Telkwa, in the Bulkley Valley

Five cabins,
on the lake.

Lakefront cabins in natural forest, with trails on the property. Open year round, and pet friendly — on Highway 16 between Smithers and Houston.

Book a cabin

One button, straight through to the booking system you already have.

This is the only thing on the page that really matters. In a live build it would open your existing reservation system with the dates already filled in — no email, no phone tag, and no guest deciding it is easier to stay somewhere else.

Rates and availability are not reproduced in this concept — those are yours to publish, and a number invented here would be worse than none at all.

Checked on roundlakeresort.com, 30 July 2026

The booking system works. The button that should reach it does not.

The booking button

Book Now leads to a page that does not exist

Needs fixing

The main call to action on every page returns “Oops, that page doesn’t exist!” Every guest who clicks it is a booking that had to find another way, or did not happen.

The booking engine

It exists, and it works

Already working

Their reservation system loads fine and takes bookings. It is already being paid for — the website simply does not reach it.

The Facebook link

Missing its https, so it 404s

Worth fixing

The social link resolves to a page on their own domain instead of Facebook, because the address it was given has no protocol on the front.

The words

Still selling a “social distancing retreat”

Worth fixing

The phrase sits in the main description and in the rates page title, which is the line Google shows in search results. It made sense in 2020 and it dates the place now.

The footer

Copyright 2024

Small

Small on its own, but it is the year a visitor checks when they are deciding whether a place is still open.

None of this is neglect. A site gets built, it works, and then a moved page quietly breaks something and nobody is told. It is the most common thing we find.

What would change, in order

1

Make the button take a booking

Book Now goes straight to the reservation system you already have. That is the whole job, and it is worth more than everything else on this list combined.

2

Say when the cabins are free

Availability visible before anyone has to write an email or make a phone call.

3

Write for the guest you want now

Lakefront, five cabins, pet friendly, open all year, trails from the door. That is the pitch — not a retreat from something everyone has stopped thinking about.

4

Fix the links and the year

Facebook goes to Facebook, and the footer year looks after itself.

The place

5

Lakefront cabins

Year round

Cabins and activities in all four seasons.

Pet friendly

Cabins and property both.

Trails

Natural forest, straight from the cabins.

What this concept does not cover

One page, not a whole site. These exist on roundlakeresort.com and are listed so the scope is honest.
